Ancient Capitol Red Palace - Deep Dark Red Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera ‘Premium Lotus’ — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Excellent bloomer. Holy Smoke!! This lotus is a deep, deep red! Plus, it blooms extremely prolifically - flower after flower after flower. The gorgeous flowers are high above the leaves. The tips of the stamen are usually dark red, too. Nice, fat, black-red buds are lovely. We highly recommend this classic lotus - you will not be disappointed!

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
