Ancient Chinese Lotus Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera ‘Zhongshan Guodai Lian’ — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Huge flowers! A soft pink single-petal lotus with classic style and form. The flowers are very large and usually perfectly formed. This one just radiates peace and calmness when the flower opens. This variety is supposedly a descendent of ancient seeds that were unearthed in an area of China after being buried and dormant underground for hundreds of years, thus it is called Ancient Chinese Lotus

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
