Chinese Red Jiaxing Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera ‘Zhongguohong Jiaxing’ — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Red City Series by Master Ding Yuesheng. 'Jiaxing' is a stunning red single petal lotus that produces large flowers which retain their color and have a very nice shape. It begins blooming early in the season and continues throughout the summer. A little more difficult to grow for us but it surely is beautiful!

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
