The huge, single-petal flowers have exceptionally wide petals that are a rich warm pink. The stamen stand up in a frilly collar around the bright sunshine yellow receptacle. You really cannot miss it when it is blooming because it boasts superior size and color. This lotus will reach 5'-6' tall in a 25" diameter pot and would get even taller in an earth-bottom pond. The seed pods are large and will be perfect for dried flower arrangements or craft projects.

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
