Dasajin Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera ‘Large Versicolor’ — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Purple! Very unusual. Huge creamy white flowers (10"-14") with a jagged picotee of purple along the outer edge of the petals. The inner petals are tipped with green. Even the bud carries a splash of purple making this one of our favorite large lotus. If you are really lucky you might get one of these rare flowers with a giant purple stripe!

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
