Delicate & Pretty Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — medium lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Delicate & Pretty has just a touch of pink at the tips of the heavy cream colored petals. Look for a flash of gold in the center. For a medium-sized lotus it produces nice seed pods, too, not giant ones but perfect for display in a flower arrangement.

As a medium lotus, this one settles at 6 to 18 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
