Golden Splash Hibiscus - Variegated Leaves Lotus (Bare Root)
Nelumbo nucifera ‘Very Rare’ — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.
Totally Different. From the variegated leaves to the very unusual flower color, this lotus is one of a kind! The lighter color in the leaves is more pronounced early in the season but never completely changes to dark green. The bud is a crazy mixture of green and soft red while the open flower has pink and cream striped petals. 'Golden Splash Hibiscus' does not bloom heavily but the distinct leaf color gives this lotus plenty to hold your attention. We have found this unique lotus to grow very well here at the nursery.

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered. Pot size, soil and the rest of the method are in the lotus planting instructions.
