Green Maiden Lotus (Bare Root)
Nelumbo nucifera — dwarf lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.
Great lotus for 1st Time growers. Double-headed flowers for Good Luck. 'Green Maiden' is a semi-double pink lotus with very unique green undertones. The cup-shaped bloom has an almost luminescent quality. This lotus is very easy to grow and starts flowering early in the season and continues until the plant goes dormant. It sometimes has double-headed flowers which are a symbol of good luck! We suggest a 12"-18" diameter pot for a full-sized robust plant; however, 'Green Maiden' will grow well in a small pot. The bowl in the picture is 5" wide and 4" deep.

As a dwarf lotus, this one settles at 2 to 12 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered. Pot size, soil and the rest of the method are in the lotus planting instructions.
