Happy Lover Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Premier lotus. Limited quantities. With non-stop blooming, this fantastic variety is from the renowned Yileen Gardens in Nanjing, China. This eye-popping red lotus is really a winner! The dark red color is spectacular and the flower often has red appendages at the tips of the golden yellow stamen. The early season flowers will have a few more petals than the flower of the mature plant but every version is exceptionally beautiful!

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
