Hope - A Whimsical Little Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera ‘Xiwang’ — dwarf lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Definitely Different! Very unique shape - a happy flower!

It starts out its life as a regular looking little lotus bud and then it goes crazy! Introduced by The Lotus Garden of Nanjing, the long, narrow petals often twist making 'Hope' a prize winner in the 8th National Lotus Exhibition in China. Wispy, twirling petals give it a very delicate and unusual appearance.

As a dwarf lotus, this one settles at 2 to 12 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
