Ming Liu Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera ‘Ming Liu’ — medium lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Ming Liu, also known as 'Celebrity', has big, ball-shaped flowers with bright happy color! It boasts rich, dark red flowers that have the possibility of a bubbled receptacle for extra interest. Sometimes when the flower is older the petals take on a unique striped color which is lovely. This variety produces lots of flowers for us.

As a medium lotus, this one settles at 6 to 18 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
