Peppermint Pink Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

'Peppermint Pink' is a gloriously unstable lotus! Pretty light pink petals with darker pink striping makes this lotus really different. The same plant may produce a totally different looking flower the next time; however, every one of them is outstanding! Check out some of the pretty variations in the pictures below. The flowers have a wonderful shape and are large. Thank you to Dr. Diake Tian for the random Chinese seed that produced this fun lotus!

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
