Twilight Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera ‘Xia Guang’ — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

'Twilight' is a very lovely large, dark pink flower is just the thing for the pink lover! The rich dark color of the petals is accented by a bright gold center that has a trumpet-shaped receptacle sporting a lovely, fluffy ring of gold stamen. Officially classified as a light red in color, this lotus variety has been a favorite around the world for some time but it is new to us. Enjoy!

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
