Chinese Ruijin - Red City Series Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Zhong Guo Hong Ruijin. 'Ruijin' is a lovely, multi-petal flower with pointed petals. The outside petals are wide and provide the perfect foundation for the tight mass of thinner petals in the center. Although we have seen pictures of 'Ruijin' that are very dark red ours have bloomed with a softer red color that makes it distinct from the other members of Master Ding's City Series. We highly recommend 'Ruijin'!

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
