Dunhuang Red has huge flowers with very broad petals that are lovely solid pink on the first day. As the flower ages the color becomes a soft pink that almost glows. The shape of the flower is open and airy.

Dunhuang is a county-level city in northwestern Gansu Province, Western China. This lovely lotus is native to that area.
