Foulis Scottish Family Shield Accent Mug

A mug is a small daily anchor. This one carries the Foulis family shield, so a name that has been written in Scottish records for centuries turns up in your kitchen every morning.

Foulis is a territorial name — one taken from land rather than from a trade or a father — and it has been recorded in Scotland from an early date. Names of that type tie a family to a particular corner of the country, which is often where the research trail begins.

The shield sits beside clear Scotland lettering, printed on both sides of the 11-ounce mug so it reads from either angle. Choose a black, navy or red handle and interior. A well-judged gift for a Foulis relative, or for the one who has been building the family tree.
