Garth Scottish Ancestry Mug – Family Shield

Garth is a short, plain-spoken name, and there is something fitting about seeing it on a plain white mug with the family shield and nothing else competing for attention.

The name is territorial in origin. A garth was an enclosure or yard, and names of that kind attached themselves to the families who lived and worked at such a place — a reminder that a great many Scottish surnames began with geography rather than with a chief.

The shield and Scotland lettering are printed on both sides of the mug, so the design shows whichever hand you drink with. Black, navy or red handle and interior. A sound gift for someone building out the family tree, or just for your own morning shelf.
