Golden Sunset Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — medium lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Extreme bloomimg. Oh yes "”- that color is real and it is scrumptious! Easy to grow and an extreme flower producer, this is one great lotus! Look for the first round of flowers to have a heavier petal count. As 'Golden Sunset' matures and temperatures get warmer the flowers will have fewer, wider petals and more intense color. We highly recommend this variety. Its smaller size makes it the perfect choice for people who don't have a large growing area. One very nice trait for this variety is that it often produces multiple flowers at the same time.

As a medium lotus, this one settles at 6 to 18 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
