Light of Yaochi - Classic Beauty Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — medium lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Yao Chi Zhi Guang. Perfection. Light of Yaochi is supposed to be a large lotus but for us it grows to more of a medium height with flowers that are too beautiful to describe. The luminous pink petals are elongated and often tipped in green. Curly stamen surround the green receptacle. There are a lot of bigger lotus but there is not a more delicate or pretty flower.

As a medium lotus, this one settles at 6 to 18 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
