Melinee's Song - Fuchsia Fun Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — medium lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Fabulously fuchsia. The sweet flower of 'Melinee's Song' is an unusual shade of dark pink with just a hint of purple. Named for the artist in our family, Melinee Bradford Bancroft, who can see the beautiful array of colors in God's world and the transfer them to canvas or watercolor paper. Her art fills our homes and her gracious demeanor fills our hearts.

As a medium lotus, this one settles at 6 to 18 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
