Momo Botan Minima Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — bowl lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

An old standard bowl/small lotus originally hybridized in Japan, 'Momo botan Minima' is a smaller version than the original Momo botan. The multi-petal lotus is bright red with petals that turn white in the center as the flower ages.

As a bowl lotus, this one settles at 2 to 12 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
