Oriole Out of Water Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera ‘Chushui Huangli’ — dwarf lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Blooms early and often. A green oval-shaped bud opens into a cheerful light yellow flower. The petals usually have a small green spot of the apices. This lotus blooms early and continues late into the summer and early fall so it may produce flowers long after other lotus have finished. Always dependable!

As a dwarf lotus, this one settles at 2 to 12 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
