Pulse Feelings -A Touch of Purple Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

A stellar introduction from. Yileen Gardens' Master Ding Yuesheng. Pulse Feelings has subtle purple veins on creamy white petals. It was the very first flower that bloomed this summer even though it was planted much later than other varieties. The flower shape is very organized and it would be beautiful as a cut flower.

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
