Purple Ribbon Gold Seal Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — large pond lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Very Unique Coloring! This lovely dark red lotus will often have a band of white at the edges of the petals. As the flower continues to open it has an emerald green receptacle that usually has 10-20 seeds. The throat of the open flower is golden at the base of the petals. Purple Ribbon Gold Seal is a very sought after new variety of lotus!

As a large pond lotus, this one settles at 12 to 24 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
