Rainbow - A Tiny Promise Lotus (Bare Root)

Nelumbo nucifera — bowl lotus, shipped as a dormant lotus tuber.

Great flowering variety! Spicy sweet pink. Small and cheerful, pink and pretty, this 'Rainbow' holds the promise of summer beauty packed into the perfect package for those with limited space! We grew this variety in a 12" diameter pot and it bloomed often. Friends tell us that Rainbow can be grown successfully in a miniature pot as well.

As a bowl lotus, this one settles at 2 to 12 inches of water over the crown once established — start a new tuber under 2 to 4 inches and raise the level as it pushes aerial leaves, with the growing tip left uncovered.
